Have had this camera for over two years and it has functioned rock solid. I have no problems with it dropping the connection and the setup only took about 15 minutes.I sat the camera on the window and I can read the license plate blocks. I have the camera set up to cover my cars in my driveway at night and the low lux ability allows for really good viewing with only a street light as illumination.The price is a little steep D but the low price of liaison units are a sharp decline in the quality and characteristics. Not sure if the problems were with early units but I have no issues with this camera (other than Price)..

The amor has saved my camera from duct and hard hits i don't worry about the camera being dented or any thing like that.But i am still very cautious about how i handle me camera - like an egg- the only thing i must bring to your attention is that the infrared sensor as it relates to the extension battery pack and grip, the amor impedes direct signal from the pop out sensor on the grip to the camera's sensor ...But a piece of paper, such as funnel is near the trigger to pick up the sensor ... thats why i have the 4-star quality for the building ... if you need to use the grip button and you good to go ...Writes from Jamaica ... This is the first digital camera I have purchased. I like to travel and wanted something durable that was in my price range, and this fit the bill.I was not aware of the sliding lens cover when I bought it, but enjoy the feature that lets you turn the camera on and off by simpling move the lid up and down.
