This is the first digital camera I have purchased. I like to travel and wanted something durable that was in my price range, and this fit the bill.I was not aware of the sliding lens cover when I bought it, but enjoy the feature that lets you turn the camera on and off by simpling move the lid up and down. I was slightly disappointed by the only 3x optical zoom and turned on the additional digital zoom after my first use.I have not had much use for it so far, but the menu is fairly simple and I am eager to take greater advantage of it. .
